Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing, 7 buttons. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED.

CUTTER'S MUST

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 2 pieces
    • Front – 2 pieces
    • Collar stand – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Collar stand – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Fuse interfacing to the collar stand. Also fuse interfacing to the integrated front placket.
  2. Stitch the waist darts on the back pieces, press the dart depths towards the center. Stitch the center back seam, press allowances to the left side and overcast.
  3. Stitch the princess seams on the front pieces, press allowances towards the center and overcast. Stitch the waist darts on the front pieces, press the dart depths towards the center.
  4. Stitch the shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overcast.
  5. Fold the collar stand pieces right sides together and stitch along the outer contour. Clip allowances at curves, turn the collar stand right side out and press.
  6. Overcast the vertical edge of the integrated front placket. Fold the collar stand with the neckline right sides together, wrap with the integrated front placket and stitch. Overcast allowances, turn the placket to the wrong side, press.
  7. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise right side out and press. Fold the binding with the armhole edge right side out and stitch. Clip allowances. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
  8. Stitch the side seams, press allowances towards the back and overcast.
  9. Overcast the hem allowance of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  10. On the right front, overcast buttonholes, on the left front, sew on buttons.
