Sewing Instructions
- Interface the neckline edges of the back and front, and the bias edges of the lower front parts with fusible interfacing.
- Stitch the princess seams of the upper back and front, press seam allowances towards the center. Stitch the side and shoulder seams of the upper, press seam allowances open.
- Stitch the seams on the upper lining pieces, press seam allowances open. Place the main garment and lining right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip seam allowances at curves, turn the piece right side out, smooth, and press. Secure the lining to the main garment at the edges.
- Place the right lower front and lining right sides together and stitch the bias edge. Clip seam allowances at curves, turn the piece right side out, smooth, and press. Place the left lower front and lining right sides together and stitch the bias edge, turn the piece right side out, smooth, and press. Place the flying and lining right sides together and stitch the bias and lower edges. Turn the piece right side out, smooth, and press.
- Attach the lower side back parts to the lower front parts, press seam allowances towards the back. Overlap the right lower front onto the left, place the flying onto the right front, and secure all pieces at the waist edge. Stitch the princess seams of the lower back parts, press seam allowances towards the center.
- Stitch the princess and side seams of the lower lining pieces, press seam allowances towards the back. Secure the lower lining to the main pieces at the waist edge and the center back edge. Topstitch the right lower onto the left along the marked line.
- Stitch the upper and lower parts of the garment together, press seam allowances upwards and serge.
- Serge the center back edges separately on each piece. Stitch the center back seam from the mark to the lower edge, press seam allowances open. Insert the zipper.
- Stitch the sleeve seam, press seam allowances towards the back and serge. Set the sleeves into the armholes, press seam allowances and serge.
- Serge the hem allowance of the dress and sleeve, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
