CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: hem allowance for the garment and sleeve – 2.0 cm; top edge allowance for the pocket – 2 cm, other seams - 1.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Upper front part – 2 pieces
- Lower front part – 1 piece on fold
- Upper back part – 1 piece on fold
- Lower back part – 1 piece on fold
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Placket – 2 pieces
- Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
- Front neckline facing – 4 pieces
- From fusible interlining:
- Front neckline facing – 2 pieces
- Back neckline facing – 1 piece
- Placket – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interlining to the designated pieces.
- Stitch bust darts. Press dart depths upwards. Stitch the upper and lower front parts. Overlock allowances and press upwards. Topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
- Overlock the pocket along the contour. Fold the top allowance of the pocket inwards and topstitch. Press side and bottom allowances to the wrong side. Place the pocket on the front and topstitch according to markings.
- Fold plackets lengthwise in half, right side out, and press. Attach plackets to the front along the long edge. Clip the allowance of the lower front part at the corner. Place the right placket over the left, attach the bottom edge to the lower front part from the wrong side. Overlock placket allowances along the contour. Topstitch on the front 0.1 – 0.2 cm from the placket attachment seam.
- Stitch the upper and lower back parts. Overlock allowance and press upwards. Topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
- Stitch shoulder seams of front and back. Overlock allowances and press towards the back.
- Overlock side edges of front and back separately. Stitch side seams from armhole to slit mark. Press allowances open. Topstitch along the slit 0.1 – 0.2 cm from the edge.
- Stitch shoulder seams of neckline facings. Press allowances open. Fold facings right sides together and stitch the neckline edge and center edges. Trim allowances, turn right side out, and press. Attach outer neckline facings to the front and back yokes. Press allowance towards the facing. Fold the edge of the inner facings inwards and stitch into the attachment seam.
- Stitch sleeve seam. Overlock allowance and press towards the back. Set sleeve into armhole, overlock allowance and press.
- Overlock the bottom edge of the garment and sleeve, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
- Make buttonholes and sew on buttons.
