Ruffled Button-Front Blouse with Yokes

Fabric recommendations: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. Also needed: 7 buttons, fusible interfacing.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: bottom hem allowance – 2.0 cm, other seams - 1.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED.

• From main fabric:
  • Front – 2 pieces
  • Back – 1 piece with fold
  • Ruffle – 2 pieces
  • Front yoke – 2 pieces
  • Back yoke – 1 piece
  • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
  • Front neckline facing – 4 pieces
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Front neckline facing – 2 pieces
  • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
  • Placket – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

1. Reinforce details with fusible interfacing.
2. Stitch bust darts. Press seam allowances upwards.
3. Stitch back darts. Press seam allowances towards the center.
4. Stitch shoulder seams of front and back. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the back.
5. Stitch shoulder seams of yokes. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the back.
6. Overlock the outer edge of the ruffle. Fold the allowance inwards and topstitch. Alternatively, you can finish with bias binding or a French seam; for this, you need to trim the allowance. Along the inner edge of the ruffle, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather.
7. Attach the yoke to the front and back, inserting the ruffle. Overlock the allowance and press towards the yoke.
8. Cut (or use ready-made) bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge right sides together and stitch. Fold the binding to the wrong side, clip the allowances, and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
9. Stitch side seams of front and back. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the back.
10. Attach the outer edge of the placket to the front, press allowances towards the placket. Fold the inner edge of the placket inwards and topstitch into the seam of the outer placket attachment.
11. Stitch shoulder seams of neckline facings. Press seam allowances open. Place facings right sides together and stitch the neckline edge and center edges. Trim allowances, turn right side out, and press. Attach the outer neckline facings to the front and back yokes. Press allowance towards the facing. Fold the edge of the inner facings inwards and topstitch into the attachment seam.
12. Overlock the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
13. Overlock buttonholes and sew on buttons.
