Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; 9 buttons. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Pocket top edge allowance – 2 cm. Hem allowance – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

CUTTER'S MUST

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 1 piece on fold
    • Front – 2 pieces
    • Front placket – 2 pieces
    • Cuff – 2 pieces
    • Collar stand – 2 pieces
    • Collar – 2 pieces
    • Pocket – 1 piece
  • FROM FUSIBLE INTERFACING:
    • Front placket – 2 pieces
    • Cuff – 2 pieces
    • Collar stand – 1 piece
    • Collar – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Serge the top allowance of the pocket, press it to the wrong side, and topstitch. Press the side and bottom allowances of the pocket to the wrong side. Place the pocket on the front according to the markings and topstitch.
  3. Press the front placket lengthwise in the middle, right side out. Stitch the inner side of the placket to the front, press allowances towards the placket. Turn the edge of the outer placket inward and topstitch into the seam of the inner placket. Stitch a decorative line 0.1 cm along the edge of the front opening.
  4. Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and serge. Stitch side seams up to the mark on the sleeve, press allowances open and serge. Stitch a reinforcing line 0.1 cm from the edge along the slit.
  5. Fold collar pieces right sides together, stitch the ends and the outer edge. Trim allowances at corners. Turn the collar right side out, shape, and press. Stitch a decorative line 0.1 cm from the edge. Fold collar stand pieces right sides together, insert the finished collar between them and stitch, simultaneously stitching the ends of the stand. Start and end stitching strictly at the marked line of the collar stand attachment seam. Turn the finished collar right side out and press. Stitch the outer stand to the neckline, turn under the raw edge of the inner stand and topstitch into the attachment seam.
  6. Fold the cuff lengthwise in the middle, right side in, and stitch the side seams. Turn the piece right side out, press. Make two pleats at the bottom edge of the sleeve. Stitch the outer side of the cuff to the sleeve, turn under the allowance of the inner side of the cuff and topstitch into the attachment seam of the outer cuff.
  7. On the right front, make buttonholes, sew buttons on the left front. Make buttonholes and sew buttons on the collar stand and cuffs.
