Cutter's Must
If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: Hem allowance 2 cm, straight sleeve edges – 2 cm, other seams 1 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).
- From main fabric:
- Front – 1 piece
- Back – 2 pieces
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Cuff – 2 pieces
- Collar – 1 piece on fold
Sewing Instructions
When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
- Mark and stitch darts on the front and back. Press dart depths towards the center. Stitch and overlock side seams. Press allowances towards the back. Overlock the center back seam. Stitch back pieces from the mark downwards. Turn the allowance of the unstitched section to the wrong side and topstitch 0.1 cm from the edge.
- Fold the straight edges of the sleeve twice by 1 cm and topstitch. Fold cuffs in half right sides together and stitch short sides strictly up to the attachment line to the sleeve. Turn cuffs right side out and press. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the sleeve. Turn under the inner side of the cuff and topstitch into the attachment seam. Set sleeves into armholes. Overlock and press the seam.
- Along the front neckline, stitch with a loosely tensioned upper thread (from mark to mark) and gather. Fold the collar in half right sides together and stitch the ends up to the attachment line to the neckline. Turn collar right side out and press. Attach the outer side of the collar to the neckline. Turn under the inner side of the collar and topstitch into the attachment seam.
- Overlock, fold under, and topstitch the bottom edge of the blouse.
- On the cuffs, overlock buttonholes and sew on buttons.
