Cutter's Must
If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: Hem - 1.5 cm, neckline edge of front and back, long edges of ruffle - 0.7 cm. All other seam allowances - 1 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need. When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
- From main fabric:
- Front – 2 pieces
- Back – 2 pieces
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Ruffle – 1 piece on fold
- Sleeve placket – 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- integrated front placket.
Sewing Instructions
- Interface the integrated front plackets and the buttonhole area near the neckline edge with fusible interfacing.
- Stitch the waist darts on the back and front. Press the dart allowances towards the center.
- Stitch the center back seam. Serge and press to the left side.
- Stitch the shoulder and side seams. Serge and press towards the back.
- Cut a bias binding strip 3 cm wide and equal to the length of the neckline.
- Fold the ruffle lengthwise in half, right sides together, and stitch the short sides. Turn right side out and press. Along the outer edge of the ruffle, stitch with loosely tensioned stitches to gather. Make 2 buttonholes on the front (for later threading of the drawstring). Place the bias binding on the neckline and stitch, inserting the ruffle between them (the ruffle extends to the edge of the placket). The short edge of the bias binding extends to the edge of the placket. Fold the lower edge of the bias binding inwards and press.
- Serge the lower edge of the blouse.
- Press the placket inwards first by 1 cm, then again by the width of the placket. Fold the placket to the right side and stitch the upper and lower corners.
- Turn the placket to the wrong side and topstitch. Along the lower edge of the bias binding, stitch to form a casing. The stitching starts at the placket topstitching.
- Fold the sleeve placket lengthwise in half, right sides out, and press. Stitch with loosely tensioned stitches along the placket allowance. Gather. Stitch the placket to the sleeve. Serge the seam and press upwards. Set the sleeves into the armholes. Serge the armhole edge. Fold the allowances of the lower of the armhole inwards and topstitch.
- Cut a drawstring 2 – 2.5 cm wide. Fold lengthwise in half, right sides out, and press. Unfold, press the side edges towards the center, and fold in half. Stitch 0.1 cm from the edge.
- Fold the lower edge of the blouse to the wrong side and topstitch. Press the seam.
- Make buttonholes on the right front. Sew buttons on the left front. Thread the drawstring through the casing.
