TIP: To ensure the fabric remains stretchy in the finished seam areas, stitch the cut pieces with a narrow zigzag stitch or a special stretch stitch. To keep the edge stretchy, the hem should be overlocked with an overlock stitch, and then stitched using a twin needle or a coverstitch machine. This also applies to finishing other edges of the garment that should not lose elasticity. These recommendations do not apply to industrial production. If ready-made knit CUFFS and waistband are not available, they can be made from the main fabric and an elastic band inserted inside.
Sewing Instructions
- Fold and topstitch the pocket opening edge. Attach the pocket to the FRONT PANEL.
- Attach the SLEEVES to the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL. Stitch the side seams and SLEEVE seams. Fold the waistband in half lengthwise, right side out, and attach it, stretching it slightly.
- Align the ZIPPER with the edge of the opening. Insert the ZIPPER. Along the ZIPPER insertion seam, attach a twill tape, covering the ZIPPER tape.
- Stitch the hood parts. Overlock the buttonholes on the hood according to the markings. Fold and topstitch the allowance along the front edge of the hood. Insert the hood into the neckline. Topstitch the seam at 0.5 cm.
- Stitch the CUFFS into a loop. Attach the CUFFS to the SLEEVES.
- Insert a drawstring into the hood.
