CUTTER'S MUST
- From knit fabric:
- Center BACK PANEL – 2 QTY
- Side BACK PANEL – 2 QTY
- Center FRONT PANEL - 2 QTY
- Side FRONT PANEL – 2 QTY
- Back SLEEVE half – 2 QTY
- Front SLEEVE half – 2 QTY
- From wool fabric:
- COLLAR – FLOUNCE - 4 QTY
Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics are sewn with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also sew the pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the relief seams of the BACK PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the center and overcast. Stitch the center seam of the BACK PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES to the left side and overcast.
- Stitch the relief seams of the FRONT PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the center and overcast.
- Attach the back SLEEVE halves to the BACK PANEL. Attach the front SLEEVE halves to the FRONT PANEL. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the SLEEVE and overcast.
- Stitch the upper seams of the SLEEVES. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and overcast.
- Stitch the center seams of the COLLAR-FLOUNCES. Fold the COLLARS right sides together and stitch the outer edge. Clip SEAM ALLOWANCES, turn the COLLAR right side out. Attach the lower COLLAR to the neckline, clip SEAM ALLOWANCES at the NOTCHES. Turn under the open inner edge of the COLLAR and topstitch into the COLLAR attachment seam.
- Stitch the center seam of the FRONT PANEL, inserting the COLLAR – FLOUNCE into the seam. Overcast SEAM ALLOWANCES.
- Stitch the lower edges of the SLEEVES and the SIDE PANEL seams in one continuous stitch, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and overcast.
- Overcast the hem allowance of the garment and SLEEVE, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
