Fabric Recommendations

For the best result, select knit fabrics with low to medium stretch in contrasting colors:

  • Knit fabrics made from natural or blended fibers

Additional Supplies

No additional notions are required.

Cutter's Must

  • From main fabric:
    1. Left Back – 1 piece
    2. Right Back – 1 piece
    3. Front – 1 piece
    4. Sleeve (left) – 1 piece
  • From contrast fabric:
    1. Upper Back – 1 piece
    2. Upper Front – 1 piece
    3. Sleeve (right) – 1 piece

Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics should be stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch the center back seam joining the Left Back and Right Back. Press seam allowances to the left side and serge. Stitch the Upper Back to the back, press seam allowances upwards and serge.
  2. Mark the dart and the center seam on the Front. In the upper part, cut along the middle between the marked center seam lines, then stitch the center seam. Press seam allowances to the left side and serge. Stitch the dart, press.

  4. Stitch the shoulder seams of the back and front (on the right side, the shoulder seam allowance of the back is 1.5 cm longer than the shoulder seam of the front). Press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  5. Stitch the Upper Front to the Front. Press seam allowances downwards and serge.
  6. Serge the neckline edge of the back and front. Fold the allowance to the wrong side, press and topstitch, continuing the stitching along the seam joining the Upper Front to the Front.

  9. Set the sleeves into the armholes, matching notches. Serge seam allowances and press.
