CUTTER'S MUST
- From main fabric:
- BACK PANEL - 2 QTY
- FRONT PANEL SIDE PANEL - 2 QTY
- FRONT PANEL Center - 1 QTY
- Yoke - 2 QTY
- SLEEVE - 2 QTY
- BACK PANEL FACING - 2 QTY
- From LINING fabric:
- Yoke - 2 QTY (cut according to top patterns)
- From FUSIBLE INTERFACING:
- BACK PANEL FACING - 2 QTY, SEAM ALLOWANCES along the back slit.
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to the pieces.
- Stitch darts on the BACK PANEL pieces. Press darts towards the center of the piece.
- Serge the center back seam. Stitch the center seam from the NOTCH for the ZIPPER to the slit. Press the seam open, pressing the ZIPPER slit. Insert the ZIPPER from the top edge to the NOTCH.
- Stitch the center seam of the yoke and the center seam of the LINING from the bottom to the NOTCH. Clip SEAM ALLOWANCES near the mark and press open. Place the yoke and LINING right sides together and stitch the neckline and front neckline opening up to the NOTCH. Clip the seam at curves. Turn the pieces right side out, shape, and press. Secure the yoke to the LINING along the contour and then treat as a single-layer piece.
- Serge the outer edge of the FACINGS. Place the FACINGS with the back neckline wrong sides together. Before reaching 5 mm from the edges of the invisible closure, fold back the FACING and pin it to the top edge of the dress. On the right side of the dress, fold back the SEAM ALLOWANCES along the ZIPPER and pin them to the neckline edge over the FACING. Stitch the neckline edge. Clip the seam at curves, turn the pieces right side out, and press. Fold the SEAM ALLOWANCES along the closure to the wrong side and attach to the ZIPPER tape.
- Stitch the shoulder seams of the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL, inserting the yoke between the BACK PANEL and FACING pieces. Serge the seam, turn, and press towards the BACK PANEL.
- Stitch the princess seams of the FRONT PANEL, press the seam towards the center, and serge. Attach the yoke to the FRONT PANEL. On the center FRONT PANEL, clip the seam at the corner. Press seams downwards and serge. Stitch the side seams. Press seams towards the BACK PANEL and serge.
- Stitch the SLEEVE seam. Press the seam and serge. Set the SLEEVES into the armholes, matching NOTCHES. Press the seam and serge.
- Press the hem of the dress and the SLEEVE hem to the wrong side, serge, and hem with blind stitches. Hem the sides of the slit with blind stitches.
