Cutter's Must

  • From main fabric:
  • 1. Back – 2 qty
  • 2. Front – 1 qty with fold
  • 3. Placket – 1 qty
  • 4. Placket1 – 2 qty
  • 5. Yoke – 1 qty

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fold the placket in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Fold the Placket1 pieces right sides together and stitch the lower shaped edge. Turn Placket1 right side out and press.
  2. Stitch the darts on the front. Press the darts upwards. Create a box pleat on the front. Press the pleat and secure it along the upper edge of the front and at the waistline marking.
  3. Attach the plackets to the yoke. Stitch the yoke to the front. Press the seam upwards and serge.
  4. Stitch the shoulder seams. Press the seams towards the back and serge.
  5. Cut a bias binding 4 cm wide for finishing the armhole and neckline. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the bias binding along the armhole edge on the right side and stitch, then fold the bias binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam. Finish the neckline in the same way.
  6. Prepare the rouleau loop. Attach the loop to the center edge of the right back. Serge the center edges of the back. Stitch the center back seam from the bottom to the notch and press open. Secure the allowance of the center edge to the neckline with 2-3 stitches.
  7. Stitch the side seams. Serge the seams and press towards the back. Secure the allowance of the side seam to the armhole with 2-3 stitches.
  8. Press the hem of the garment up by 3 cm, then fold the allowance up by another 1 cm and topstitch.
  9. Sew buttons onto the back and the yoke.
