Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the Plackets, the upper Collar and the outer Stand Collar.
  2. Place the upper and under Collar pieces right sides together. Stitch the ends and the outer edge of the collar. Trim the seam allowances. Turn the collar right side out, shape, and press. Place the Stand Collar pieces right sides together, insert the prepared collar between them, align the notches, and stitch, simultaneously stitching the ends of the collar stand. Start and end the stitching precisely at the marked seam line for attaching the collar stand. Turn the prepared collar right side out and press.
  3. Stitch the waist, bust, and shoulder darts on the back and front pieces. Press the darts towards the center of each piece. Trim the bust dart allowance to 1 cm and serge.
  4. Stitch the center back seam of the back. Press the seam allowances to the left and serge.
  5. Finish the outer edges of the Front Flounces and Sleeve Flounces with a narrow rolled hem.
  6. Place each Placket with its right side against the wrong side of the Front and stitch along the front edge. Turn the placket to the right side of the front, baste and press. Turn under the raw edge of the placket, slip the slightly gathered Front Flounce underneath it and topstitch the placket to the front. Secure the flounce to the front along the neckline and shoulder seam.
  7. Stitch the shoulder seams, press the seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  8. Stitch the outer Stand Collar with the collar to the neckline, turn under the raw edge of the inner stand and topstitch it into the seam.
  9. Stitch the Sleeve Flounces into the armholes. Press the seam allowances towards the armhole, serge, and topstitch 0.1 cm from the seam.
  10. Stitch the side seams, press the seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  11. Serge the hem of the garment, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
  12. On the right front, make buttonholes; on the left, sew on buttons.
