Sewing Instructions
- Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to the COLLAR stand.
- Stitch darts on the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL pieces. Press darts towards the center.
- Stitch the center back seam from the fastener NOTCH downwards. Press seams open and serge.
- Stitch the shoulder and side seams of the blouse. Serge the side and shoulder seams. Press the side and shoulder seams towards the BACK PANEL.
- COLLAR treatment: Fold the COLLAR in half lengthwise, wrong sides together, and stitch along the short edges, inserting hooks and eyes into the seam. Turn the COLLAR right side out and press. Serge the FLOUNCE pieces around the perimeter with a rolled hem. Align the upper and lower FLOUNCES along the marked line and stitch along this line with loosely tensioned stitches. Gather to the length of the COLLAR. Mark the FLOUNCE attachment line on the COLLAR (transfer from the pattern). Topstitch the FLOUNCES onto the outer side of the COLLAR. Along the neckline edge of the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL, stitch with loosely tensioned stitches and gather. Attach the COLLAR to the neckline, aligning the NOTCHES. Press the seam.
- Stitch the SLEEVE seam on the main and SLEEVE LINING pieces. Serge and press the seam. Along the bottom of the main SLEEVE, stitch with loosely tensioned stitches and gather. Insert the SLEEVE LINING into the SLEEVE, right sides together, and stitch the pieces along the bottom edge. Serge and press the seam towards the LINING. Turn the pieces right side out, align at the cap, and secure with a stitch. Then, treat the SLEEVE as a single-layer piece. Between the NOTCHES (on the FRONT PANEL side – upper NOTCH), stitch with loosely tensioned stitches and gather. Set the SLEEVES into the armholes. Serge and press the seam towards the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL. Along the armhole, stitch 0.1 cm from the seam.
- Serge the bottom edge of the garment, fold, and topstitch.
