Key Design Features
Silhouette: a semi-fitted blouse through the torso, designed with shaping darts and voluminous short puff sleeves.
Neckline & Collar: The neckline is gathered into a high stand collar trimmed with a double-tier gathered ruffle (upper and lower flounce), creating a charming and refined neckline.
Closure: a short back opening at the neck, below the collar, fastened with two hooks and eyes on the stand collar; below the opening the center back is seamed.
Sleeves: Short, voluminous lined puff sleeves, gathered at the sleeve cap and at the hem to create a romantic, full silhouette.
Body: Front and back darts provide tailored shaping for a flattering and fitted look through the bust and waist.
Hem: a straight hem, designed to be worn either tucked into high-waisted bottoms or smoothly over a waistband.
Level Of Difficulty
Intermediate. Requires attention to detail for ruffle construction, gathering techniques, and setting a neat back closure.
Fabric Recommendations
Choose lightweight, delicate fabrics that drape beautifully and support the blouse's voluminous elements:
- Lightweight fabrics made from natural or blended fibers (e.g., cotton batiste, silk crepe, viscose)
Additional Supplies
- Fusible interfacing
- 2 hooks and 2 eyes for the closure
Cutter's Must
If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, seam allowances are not included. Seam allowances: hem of the Sleeve – 4 cm; all edges of the Upper Flounce and Lower Flounce – 0 cm; all other seams 1 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the Stand Collar.
- Stitch the darts on the Back and Front pieces. Press the darts towards the center.
- Stitch the center back seam from the opening mark downwards. Press seams open and serge.
- Stitch the shoulder and side seams of the blouse. Serge the side and shoulder seams. Press the side and shoulder seams towards the back.
- Collar: Fold the Stand Collar in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the short ends, catching the hooks and eyes in the seam. Turn the collar right side out and press. Finish all edges of the Upper Flounce and Lower Flounce with a rolled hem on the serger. Place the Upper Flounce on the Lower Flounce along the marked line and sew a gathering stitch (loosened upper thread) along this line. Gather to the length of the collar. Mark the flounce attachment line on the collar (transfer from the pattern). Topstitch the flounces onto the outer side of the collar. Sew a gathering stitch along the neckline edge of the Back and Front and gather. Attach the collar to the neckline, aligning the notches. Press the seam.
- Stitch the underarm seams of the Sleeve and the Sleeve Lining. Serge and press. Sew a gathering stitch along the lower edge of the Sleeve and gather. Place the Sleeve Lining inside the Sleeve, right sides together, and stitch the pieces along the bottom edge. Serge and press the seam towards the lining. Turn right side out, align the two layers at the sleeve cap and baste together. From now on treat the sleeve as one layer. Sew a gathering stitch on the sleeve cap between the notches (on the front side – up to the upper notch) and gather. Set the sleeves into the armholes. Serge and press the seam towards the back and front. Topstitch along the armhole 0.1 cm from the seam.
- Serge the bottom edge of the garment, fold, and topstitch.
