Pattern #5665
Tech. Description

3/4 Sleeve Twisted Front Crop Top

A stylish women's sewing pattern for a contemporary crop top featuring a unique twisted front detail and comfortable 3/4 length sleeves.

When To Wear

  • Casual Chic Outings: Ideal for stylish everyday wear, from coffee dates to light errands.
  • Spring & Summer Events: Its cropped length and comfortable sleeves make it perfect for warmer weather.
  • Layering Essential: An excellent piece to layer over dresses or tank tops for added style and coverage.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: Fitted through the torso with a distinctly cropped length.

Neckline: V-neckline created by the elegant twist of the front panels.

Closure: Pull-on style with no visible fastenings, relying on the stretch of the fabric.

Sleeves: Set-in sleeves finishing at a flattering 3/4 length.

Back: Clean, simple, and fitted, mirroring the cropped length of the front.

Hem: Cropped, sitting above the natural waist, with a straight finish at the back.

Special Feature: A signature twisted panel at the front creates a draped, flattering effect.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. Requires experience with stretchy knit fabrics and specialized sewing techniques for knits.

Fabric Recommendations

Choose medium to high stretch double-sided knit fabrics that drape well:

  • Natural or blended fiber knit fabrics

Additional Supplies

No additional notions are required.

Cutting Plan

From main fabric:

  • Back – 1 piece
  • Front – 1 piece
  • Sleeve – 2 pieces

Tip: Pattern pieces made from knit fabrics should be stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When overlocking, trim seam allowances to 0.6 – 0.8 cm. The hem allowance should be topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch the right shoulder and side seam of the back and front. Finish the seams and press towards the back.
  2. Finish the neckline and bottom edge of the garment with a narrow edge stitch.
  3. Twist the front piece once and stitch the left shoulder and side seam. Finish the seams and press towards the back.
  4. Stitch the sleeve seams. Finish the seams and press.
  5. Set the sleeves into the armholes, matching notches. Finish the seams and press.
  6. Finish the lower edge of the sleeve. Fold to the wrong side, press, and topstitch.
