Cutting Plan
- Back – 1 piece
- Front – 1 piece
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Collar – 1 piece
- Facing – 2 pieces
Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.6 – 0.8 cm. Hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity.
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch shoulder seams of the back and front. Serge seams and press towards the back.
- Attach the collar to the neckline with the outer side, matching notches.
- Serge the outer edge of the facing.
- Baste the zipper to the front edges. Place facings right sides together with the fronts, with the zipper in between. Stitch the zipper. Turn facings to the wrong side and baste along the neckline. Attach the collar edge to the zipper. Fold the open edge of the collar inwards and topstitch into the neckline seam. Stitch a topstitch along the edge of the front.
- Stitch side seams of the back and front. Serge seams and press towards the back.
- Stitch sleeve seams. Serge seams and press.
- Set sleeves into armholes, matching notches. Serge seams and press.
- Serge the bottom edge of the garment and the bottom edge of the sleeve. Fold to the wrong side, press and topstitch. Secure the facing to the front.
