Tip: Pieces cut from knit fabrics are sewn with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.6 – 0.8 cm. Hem allowances are topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Finish the neckline edges.
  2. Stitch shoulder seams up to the notch. Press seams open.
  3. Stitch side seams of the back and front. Finish seams and press towards the back.
  4. Stitch sleeve seams. Finish seams and press.
  5. Set sleeves into armholes, matching notches. Finish seams and press.
  6. Finish the bottom edge of the garment and sleeve hems. Fold to the wrong side, press, and topstitch.
