Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch the dart on the front insert and press towards the center. Attach the front yoke to the front insert, clipping the yoke corner. Finish the seam and press upwards. Topstitch 0.5 cm from the attachment seam.
  2. Mark and stitch the darts on the upper and lower back pieces. Press the darts towards the center back.
  3. Attach the upper back to the lower back. Finish the attachment seam and press towards the upper back. Topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam along the dart.
  4. Face the pocket opening with the pocket lining, turn the lining to the wrong side, clipping the curves. Understitch the seam allowance to the lining 0.2 cm from the seam. Place the lower side front under the pocket lining and attach it to the center front, stitching the pocket lining in one continuous seam. (Note: The stitching line for attaching the lower side front and the stitching line for the pocket lining must follow the pattern contour precisely, without shifting.)
  5. Attach the upper front to the lower front. Finish the attachment seam and press towards the upper front. Topstitch along the dart and the lower front princess seam up to the pocket opening.
  6. Stitch and finish the center back seam.
  7. Topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam joining the upper and lower parts of the dress.
  8. Finish the neckline allowances.
  9. Finish the outer edge of the fastening facing. Place the fastening facing right sides together with the right front and stitch along the edge of the opening and the neckline section. Finish the center edge of the lower front from the notch downwards. Stitch the center seam on the center front from the notch downwards. Turn the fastening facing to the right side.
  10. Press under the inner edge of the lower placket. Attach the placket to the left front. Press the seam towards the facing. Turn the facing to the right side and stitch the upper corner. Turn the placket to the wrong side and press. Stitch the inner edge of the facing into the attachment seam (stitch-in-the-ditch). Place the facing over the placket and topstitch a curved securing stitch so that it meets the stitching on the right front (folding back the placket). Secure the fastening facing and the placket with a vertical bar tack.
  11. Stitch and finish the side and shoulder seams of the dress. Press the side and shoulder seams of the dress towards the back.
  12. Turn the neckline allowance to the wrong side and topstitch.
  13. Finish the hem of the dress, turn the allowance to the wrong side and topstitch.
  14. On the right front, mark the buttonhole positions and finish the buttonholes, then sew buttons onto the left front.
