Main fabric can be used as lining.
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse fusible interfacing to bodice pieces.
- Stitch the inner front to the center front. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the inner.
- Stitch the back to the front. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the back.
- Stitch the lining pieces in a similar manner. Overlock the bottom edge of the lining.
- Fold the strap lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch 0.5 cm from the fold. Turn the strap right side out and press. Attach one end of the strap to the neckline of the front. During fitting, adjust the strap length and attach the second end.
- Stitch the side seams of the skirt. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the back. Stitch the center back seam of the back skirt half from the notches for the zipper downwards. Overlock the seam allowances and press open, pressing the zipper openings.
- Stitch the bodice to the skirt. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the front. Insert the zipper. Press the seam.
- Place the bodice and lining right sides together. Fold back the lining 5 mm from the edges of the concealed fastener and pin to the upper edge of the dress. Fold the seam allowances along the zipper to the right side of the dress and pin to the upper edge over the lining. Stitch the upper edges. Fold the seam allowances along the fastener to the wrong side. Fold the lining up and topstitch onto the seam allowance 1-2 mm from the seam. Fold the lining to the wrong side and attach it to the zipper tape. Press the pieces.
- Topstitch the bottom edge of the lining into the seam joining the bodice and skirt.
- Overlock the bottom edge of the sundress, fold under, and topstitch 0.5 cm from the bottom edge.
