Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse fusible interfacing to the bodice pieces.
  2. Stitch the inner front pieces to the center front. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the inner front.
  3. Stitch the back to the front. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the back.
  4. Stitch the lining pieces in the same way. Overlock the bottom edge of the lining.
  5. Fold each strap lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch 0.5 cm from the fold. Turn the strap right side out and press. Attach one end of the strap to the front neckline. During fitting, adjust the strap length and attach the other end.
  6. Stitch the side seams of the skirt. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the back. Stitch the center back seam of the back skirt from the zipper notch downwards. Overlock the seam allowances and press open, also pressing the allowances of the zipper opening.
  7. Stitch the bodice to the skirt. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the bodice. Insert the concealed zipper. Press the seam.
  8. Place the bodice and lining right sides together. Stopping 5 mm short of the zipper edges, fold back the lining and pin it to the upper edge of the dress. Fold the seam allowances along the zipper to the right side of the dress and pin them to the upper edge over the lining. Stitch along the upper edge. Turn the seam allowances along the zipper to the wrong side. Fold the lining up and understitch it to the seam allowance 1-2 mm from the seam. Turn the lining to the wrong side and stitch it to the zipper tape. Press.
  9. Stitch the bottom edge of the lining in the ditch of the bodice-to-skirt seam.
  10. Overlock the bottom edge of the dress, fold under, and topstitch 0.5 cm from the bottom edge.
