  • From fusible interfacing:

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse fusible interfacing to 1 strap piece and to 2 pieces each of the back facing and front facing.
  2. Stitch the strap along the outer and inner edges, clip the seam allowances, turn the strap right side out, and press.
  3. Stitch the back facing and front facing together at the side seam. Press the seam open. Place the facings right sides together, insert the strap between them so that the interfaced side of the strap is on the interfaced side of the facing. Stitch the facing pieces on two sides: along the short edge of the front facing and then along the upper edge of the facings. Turn the seam right side out and press.
  4. Stitch the princess seams on the front and back. Overlock and press towards the center.
  5. Overlock the center edge on the front. Stitch the center seam of the front between the notches. Press the seam open, pressing the slits.
  6. Stitch the side edges. Overlock the seams and press towards the back.
  7. Attach the outer side of the facing to the upper edge of the dress. Press the seam towards the facing. Stitch the center seam of the back up to the notch for the zipper. Press the seam open, pressing the slits. Insert the zipper into the center seam of the back.
  8. Fold under the open edge of the facing and stitch to the dress's seam allowances in the zipper area. Press the seam.
  9. Overlock the lower edge of the dress, fold under, and topstitch 1.5 cm from the lower edge.
