Sewing Instructions
- Fuse fusible interfacing to the front facing, front Yoke, front Center, sleeve hem, jacket hem, back Neckline facing, and upper collar.
- Mark the darts on the back. Stitch and press the back darts towards the center.
- Fold the upper collar with the lower collar and stitch around. Trim and press the collar.
- Stitch the front side to the front middle. Press the seam allowance open and topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam. Stitch the shaped insert to the front center and side parts. Press the seam allowance open and topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
- Stitch front center parts 2 and 1 together. Press the seam open on the front and topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
- Stitch the front middle to the front center. Press the seam allowance open and topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
- Stitch the front Yoke to the lower front. Press the seam allowance open and topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
- Place the front facing on the right side of the front, right side down, pin, and stitch along the front edge. Stitch from the front side up to the notch, which marks the end of the collar attachment. Stitch the lower edges of the front facings to the front strictly along the marked hemline. Trim the seam allowances of the upper and lower corners of the front edge. Understitch the front edge seam allowance: in the fastener area – to the front facing, in the lapel area – to the front. The stitching should be 0.2 cm from the seam. Turn the front edges to the right side and press the seams.
- Stitch and press open the center back seam. Stitch and press open the back princess seams. Stitch and press open the jacket shoulder and side seams.
- Stitch and press open the shoulder edges of the back neckline facing and front facing. Stitch the lower collar into the jacket neckline, and the upper collar into the back facing neckline edge.
- Stitch and press open the sleeve elbow seam. Press the sleeve hem. Stitch and press open the sleeve front seam.
- Set the sleeves into the armholes according to the notches. Insert shoulder pads and sleeve heads.
- On the lining fabric pieces, stitch the seams and set in the sleeves, leaving an opening in the front right sleeve seam.
- Stitch the lining to the inner edges of the front facings and back neckline facing. Press open the collar attachment seam allowances and secure them close to the seams.
- Stitch the lining to the bottom of the jacket and sleeves. Turn the jacket right side out through the opening in the sleeve. Stitch the opening in the sleeve closed.
- On the right front, make a buttonhole, and on the left front, sew on a button.
