Fabric & Materials

FROM FUSIBLE INTERFACING: FRONT FACING, FRONT PANEL Yoke, FRONT PANEL Center Part, SLEEVE and jacket hem, BACK PANEL Neckline FACING, upper COLLAR.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to the FRONT FACING, FRONT PANEL Yoke, FRONT PANEL Center Part, SLEEVE hem, jacket hem, BACK PANEL Neckline FACING, and upper COLLAR.
  2. Mark the darts on the BACK PANEL. Stitch and press the BACK PANEL darts towards the center.
  3. Fold the upper COLLAR with the lower COLLAR and stitch around. Trim and press the COLLAR.
  4. Stitch the FRONT PANEL side part to the FRONT PANEL middle part. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCE open and topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam. Stitch the shaped insert to the FRONT PANEL center and side parts. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCE open and topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
  5. Stitch FRONT PANEL center parts 2 and 1 together. Press the seam open on the FRONT PANEL and topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
  6. Stitch the FRONT PANEL middle part to the FRONT PANEL center part. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCE open and topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
  7. Stitch the FRONT PANEL Yoke to the lower FRONT PANEL part. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCE open and topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
  8. Place the FRONT FACING on the right side of the FRONT PANEL, right side down, pin, and stitch along the front edge. Stitch from the FRONT PANEL side up to the NOTCH, which marks the end of the COLLAR attachment. Stitch the lower edges of the FRONT FACINGS to the FRONT PANEL strictly along the marked hemline. Trim the SEAM ALLOWANCES of the upper and lower corners of the front edge. Understitch the front edge SEAM ALLOWANCE: in the fastener area – to the FRONT FACING, in the lapel area – to the FRONT PANEL. The stitching should be 0.2 cm from the seam. Turn the front edges to the right side and press the seams.
  9. Stitch and press open the center BACK PANEL seam. Stitch and press open the BACK PANEL princess seams. Stitch and press open the jacket shoulder and side seams.
  10. Stitch and press open the shoulder edges of the BACK PANEL neckline FACING and FRONT FACING. Stitch the lower COLLAR into the jacket neckline, and the upper COLLAR into the BACK PANEL FACING neckline edge.
  11. Stitch and press open the SLEEVE elbow seam. Press the SLEEVE hem. Stitch and press open the SLEEVE front seam.
  12. Set the SLEEVES into the armholes according to the NOTCHES. Insert shoulder pads and SLEEVE heads.
  13. On the LINING fabric pieces, stitch the seams and set in the SLEEVES, leaving an opening in the front right SLEEVE seam.
  14. Stitch the LINING to the inner edges of the FRONT FACINGS and BACK PANEL neckline FACING. Press open the COLLAR attachment SEAM ALLOWANCES and secure them close to the seams.
  15. Stitch the LINING to the bottom of the jacket and SLEEVES. Turn the jacket right side out through the opening in the SLEEVE. Stitch the opening in the SLEEVE closed.
  16. On the right FRONT PANEL, make a buttonhole, and on the left FRONT PANEL, sew on a button.
