Sewing Instructions
Tip: For a better fit of the dress on the shoulders, you can use transparent bra straps.
- Serge, stitch, and press open the princess seams on the back.
- Place the decorative collar pieces in pairs, right sides together: left front, right front, and back. Stitch the lower edge of the front collar and back collar. Separate the collar pieces. Stitch the side edges of the front collar and back collar, press seams open. Turn the collar right side out and press.
- Place the collar on the left center front according to the notches and pin. Place the collar on the right center front and pin. Serge the lower edge of the left center front. Serge the joining section of the right and left front on the right center front. Stitch the left front to the right front, remove pins. Press the seam open.
- Serge, stitch, and press open the princess seams on the front, leaving a slit in the left princess seam.
- Serge, stitch, and press open the side seams of the dress.
- Stitch the corners of the decorative back collar. Trim and turn the corners.
- Stitch the upper edge of the collar (the collar section from the armhole of the front to the armhole of the back) from notch to notch, turn, clip the seam allowances of the facing and turn right side out.
- Serge the center back edge, stitch up to the notch for the zipper. Press the seam open, press the zipper slits. Insert the zipper.
- Secure the collar to the upper edge of the back and front, leaving the armhole seam allowance of the front and back free.
- Stitch the lining pieces of the dress, leaving a slit in the left princess seam of the front, serge the seams and press towards the center of the front on the front and towards the center of the back on the back. Serge the lower edge of the lining, press to the wrong side and topstitch at a distance of 0.5 cm from the lower edge. Serge the center edge of the lining, stitch up to the notch for the zipper. Press open the center edge of the lining and press the zipper slits. Facing the armhole of the front and back and the upper edge of the front and back with the lining. Topstitch the facing seam allowance to the lining at a distance of 0.2 cm from the facing seam. Facing the slit in the princess seam of the front with the lining and lay a topstitch along the slit at a distance of 0.5 cm from the edge of the slit. Fold the center edge of the lining and stitch to the dress seam allowances in the zipper area.
- Serge the lower edge of the dress, fold and topstitch at a distance of 0.5 cm from the lower edge.
