Cutting Plan

  • From main fabric:
  • 1. Facing/Trim – 2 pieces
  • 2. Center Back – 2 pieces
  • 3. Side Back – 2 pieces
  • 4. Side Front – 2 pieces
  • 5. Center Front – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Press the bias binding lengthwise in half and bind the armhole edge of the side front and back pieces.
  2. Stitch the princess seams of the front and back. Overlock the princess seams and press towards the center.
  3. Stitch and overlock the side seams. Press the side seams towards the back.
  4. Mark and stitch the pleats on the upper layer of the front facing. Place the facing pieces right sides together and stitch the upper edge of the facing. Try on the facing and topstitch elastic tape along the sides. Attach the facing to the upper edge of the front and back. Overlock the attachment seam and the lower edge of the facing, topstitch onto the facing 0.5 cm from the edge.
  5. Overlock the center back edge and facing. Stitch the center back seam up to the notch for the zipper, press open, pressing the zipper opening. Insert the zipper.
  6. Overlock the lower edge of the dress, fold up and topstitch 0.5 cm from the lower edge.
