Cutter's Must
- From main fabric:
- 1. Back skirt half – qty 2
- 2. Front skirt half – qty 1
- 3. Waistband – qty 1
Sewing Instructions
- Reinforce the waistband with fusible interfacing.
- Mark the darts on the front skirt half and back skirt half. Stitch the darts on the front skirt half and back skirt half. Press the darts on the front skirt half towards the center of the front skirt half, and on the back skirt half towards the center of the back skirt half.
- Overlock: side edges of the front skirt half and back skirt half, the center edge of the back skirt half, and the vent edge.
- Press the lower vent edge up by 1 cm and topstitch at a distance of 0.5 cm from the vent edge. Stitch the center seam of the back skirt half from the notches for the zipper to the vent. Press open the zipper opening, press the vent. Topstitch the center seam of the back skirt half at the upper end of the vent diagonally according to the marking, catching the seam allowance for the vent.
- Stitch and press open the side seams of the garment. Insert the zipper into the center seam of the skirt. Press the waistband in half lengthwise, wrong sides together, and overlock the lower inner edge of the waistband.
- Cut the elastic trim strip to the appropriate size. Secure the elastic trim strip across the waistband at the sides. Topstitch, stretching the elastic trim strip along the waistband. Attach the waistband to the upper edge of the skirt and finish the waistband corners. Topstitch the lower edge of the waistband into the waistband attachment seam. Overlock the buttonhole and sew on the button.
- Overlock the lower edge of the skirt, fold up, press, and topstitch onto the skirt.
