Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the Front Facing to the neckline edge of the Front. Understitch the seam allowances onto the facing 0.2 cm from the seam. Mark the casing lines on the Front.
- Stitch the Back Facing to the neckline edge of the Back. Understitch the seam allowances onto the facing 0.2 cm from the seam. Mark the casing line on the Back.
- Mark and stitch the darts on the Front and Back. Press the darts on the Front towards the center front, and on the Back towards the center back.
- Overlock the center back edges of the Back. Stitch the center back seam of the Back and Back Facing, leaving an opening for the zipper. Press the center back seam open and press the zipper opening allowances. Insert the zipper.
- Stitch the side seams of the dress and overlock. Press the side seams towards the back.
- Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise and press. Finish the armhole edges of the Front and Back, as well as the side edges of the Front Facing and Back Facing, with the bias binding. Overlock the outer edges of the Front Facing and Back Facing.
- Cut the ties from the main fabric. Fold the ties lengthwise and stitch 0.5 cm from the fold. Turn the ties right side out and press. Tuck in the short ends of the ties and slipstitch by hand. Topstitch the facings along the markings to form the casings and thread the ties through.
- Overlock the hem, turn it up 2 cm and topstitch.
