  • 10. Back GORE – QTY 1
  • 11. Back FLOUNCE – QTY 1
  • From FUSIBLE INTERFACING: FACING.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Reinforce with fusible interfacing: facing.
  2. Stitch the princess seams of the front panel: upper gore, upper insert 1, upper insert 2, center insert, diagonal insert. Overcast and press the seams. The assembly of the back panel is similar.
  3. Attach the right front flounce of the front panel to the diagonal insert, overcast and press the attachment seam.
  4. Attach the left front flounce to the left side panel, overcast and press the attachment seam.
  5. Attach the back gore to the diagonal insert of the back panel, overcast and press the attachment seam.
  6. Attach the back flounce to the back gore, overcast and press the attachment seam.
  7. Overcast the side edges of the front and back skirt halves. Stitch and press open the side seams of the front and back skirt halves, leaving an opening in the left skirt seam for the zipper.
  8. Insert the zipper. Stitch the right side edge of the front and back panel facings. Overcast the outer edge of the facings and the left side edges of the facings.
  9. Overcast and press: the bottom edge of the right front flounce, the lower flounce, and the left front flounce. Topstitch the overcast edges onto the skirt. Overcast and press the center edge of the left front flounce and the left side panel. Topstitch the overcast allowance onto the skirt. Secure the right front panel and the left front panel along the upper edge.
  10. Face the upper edge of the front and back skirt halves with the facing. Topstitch the facing allowance onto the facing at a distance of 0.2 cm from the facing seam.
  11. Turn under the side edges of the facing and hand stitch.
