Cutter's Must
- From main fabric:
- Stand Collar – 2 pieces
- Center Back – 2 pieces
- Center Front – 1 piece
- Side Front – 2 pieces
- Side Back – 2 pieces
- Center Front Facing – 1 piece
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing: inner Stand Collar, Center Front Facing.
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the inner Stand Collar and the Center Front Facing.
- Place the Center Front and the Center Front Facing right sides together. Stitch around the teardrop (keyhole) opening along the marked line. Cut out the teardrop along the marking, leaving a 0.3 cm seam allowance. Turn the facing to the wrong side and press. Overlock the free edge of the facing.
- Stitch the Side Back to the Center Back. Overlock the seam and press it towards the center panel.
- Stitch the center back seam. Overlock the seam and press.
- Stitch the Side Fronts to the Center Front. Overlock the seams and press them towards the center panel.
- Stitch the left side seam, leaving an opening for the zipper. Overlock the seam and press open. Insert the invisible zipper into the left side seam.
- Stitch the right side seam. Overlock the seam and press open.
- Stitch and overlock the shoulder seams of the dress. Press the shoulder seams towards the back.
- Press under 1 cm along the lower edge of one Stand Collar. Stitch the Stand Collar pieces together along the outer edge. Trim the seam allowances at the rounded ends, turn the stand right side out and press. Stitch the stand to the neckline, then topstitch the pressed edge over the attachment seam. Edge-stitch around the stand.
- Press up the sleeve hem. Stitch the sleeve seam. Topstitch the sleeve hem.
- Set the Sleeve into the armhole. Overlock the seam and press it towards the armhole.
- Fold up and topstitch the hem of the dress.
- Sew the decorative loop and the buttons to the edges of the teardrop opening.
