  • From main fabric:
  • 1. Collar Stand - 2 qty
  • 2. Back – 2 qty
  • 3. Front – 1 qty
  • 4. Upper of front – 1 qty
  • From fusible interfacing: lower collar stand.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse fusible interfacing to the lower collar stand.
  2. Stitch and press down the bust dart on the front; stitch and press towards the center the waist darts on the back and front.
  3. Press the bias binding for finishing the lower edge of the upper front and the curved edge on the front in half lengthwise, right side out. Fold: with the lower edge of the upper front and the curved edge of the front, and stitch.
  4. Serge: the side edges of the back, front, and its upper, the armhole edges of the front and its upper, and the armhole edges of the back. Stitch and serge the shoulder seam allowances of the dress. Press the shoulder seam allowances towards the back.
  5. Stitch and press open the side seam of the upper front and the left side seam of the back.
  6. Stitch the left side seam from the zipper mark to the slit. Press open the side seam allowances, press the edges of the slit for the zipper closure. Place the zipper under the slit so that the teeth are not visible and stitch. Stitch and press open the right side seam up to the notches, leaving the slit unstitched. Fold and topstitch the armhole seam allowances.
  7. Stitch and serge the center back seam of the back.
  8. Press up the lower edge of the collar stand by 1cm. Stitch the collar stands along the outer contour. Trim the seam allowances at the rounded ends of the collar stand, turn the collar stand right side out and press. Attach the collar stand to the neckline, and topstitch the pressed edge of the collar stand into the seam of the lower collar stand attachment. Topstitch along the collar stand.
  9. Measure the length of the slits. Trim and serge the hem of the dress. Stitch the lower corners of the slits, and turn out the corners, straightening them. Secure the slit seam allowances to the main pieces with fusible web. Fold and topstitch the hem of the garment.
  10. Sew button loops to the upper front, and hooks to the front. Sew decorative button loops to the front and its upper.
