Sewing Instructions

TIP: To keep the fabric stretchy in the areas of finished seams, stitch the cut pieces with a narrow zigzag or special stretch stitch. To keep the bottom edge stretchy, the hem should be overlocked with a serger stitch, and then stitched using a twin needle. The same applies to finishing other edges of the garment that should not lose elasticity. These recommendations do not apply to industrial production.

  1. Overlock the center edges of the right SLEEVE. Stitch the center SLEEVE seam, leaving an opening in the seam, guided by the NOTCHES. Press the outer SLEEVE seam open. Topstitch the SEAM ALLOWANCES at a distance of 0.7 cm from the stitching seam, stopping 2 cm before the bottom hem, and leaving a gap in the stitching near the lower NOTCH for inserting the tie.
  2. Place the drawstring casing strip on the wrong side of the SLEEVE according to the markings, fold back the lower end of the strip. Baste and topstitch the strip along the markings.
  3. Cut strips for the ties. Fold each strip lengthwise and stitch at a distance of 0.5 cm from the fold. Turn the tie right side out and press. Tuck the ends inwards and sew.
  4. Stitch and overlock the shoulder and side seams of the blouse. Press the side and shoulder seams towards the BACK PANEL.
  5. Stitch and overlock the inner SLEEVE seams. Press the seams towards the back part of the SLEEVE.
  6. Set in the SLEEVES into the armholes according to the NOTCHES.
  7. Overlock the neckline edge of the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL, the bottom of the SLEEVE, and the bottom of the blouse. Fold under the overlocked edges and topstitch. Insert the ties into the drawstring casing. Gather the fabric on the ties, distribute the gathers, and tighten the ends of the ties.
