Cutter's Must
- From main fabric:
- 1. Front - 2 qty
- 2. Back - 1 qty
- 3. Facing - 2 qty
- 4. Sleeve - 2 qty
- 5. Collar - 2 qty
- 6. Lapel – 2 qty
- From main fabric, cut two ties 3cm wide.
Sewing Instructions
- Reinforce the facing, upper collar, and lapel with fusible interfacing.
- Stitch the bust darts on the front and the vertical waist darts on the front and back.
- Stitch the shoulder seams.
- Stitch the side seams.
- Attach the lower lapel to the lower collar.
- Attach the upper lapel to the upper collar.
- Stitch the lower collar with lapel to the upper collar with lapel, turn right side out and press.
- Finish the inner edge of each facing.
- Stitch the right front to the facing, inserting the lapel with the collar. Clip the upper collar and fold it back. Stitch the lower collar into the back neckline, clip the upper collar again and stitch the left front to the facing.
- Turn the facing to the wrong side. Baste the edges and press. Fold under the raw edge of the upper collar and topstitch into the seam of the lower collar attachment. Secure the facing to the shoulder seams with a 1 cm tack.
- Stitch the sleeve seams.
- Press the sleeve hem allowance to the wrong side and topstitch according to the markings for the casings.
- Fold under the ends of the ties. Fold the ties lengthwise and stitch 0.7 cm from the fold. Turn the ties right side out and press. Sew the ends closed. Insert the ties into the casings.
- Set in the sleeves, easing the cap.
- Finish the seam allowances of the garment hem, turn to the wrong side and topstitch along the edge.
- On the right front, finish the buttonholes. On the left front, sew on the buttons.
