  • 5 buttons

Cutter's Must

Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm.

  • From main fabric:
  • Center Front – 2 pieces
  • Side Front – 2 pieces
  • Center Back – 1 piece
  • Side Back – 2 pieces
  • Collar – 2 pieces
  • Sleeve – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing: the cut-on front facings and the upper collar.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the cut-on front facings.
  2. Stitch the princess seams on the front and back (Center Front to Side Front, Center Back to Side Back).
  3. Fold the cut-on facings halfway to the wrong side and press. Then fold the facings back to the right side along the front edge and stitch them to the front neckline edges from the front edge to the crosswise notch. Trim the seam allowances to 5 mm and clip at the ends of the seams. Baste the facings to the wrong side and stitch them to the lower edge of the blouse.
  4. Stitch the shoulder seams.
  5. Stitch the side seams.
  6. Stitch the under collar and upper collar right sides together, turn right side out and press.
  7. Turn the facings to the wrong side, baste the edges and press. Stitch the under collar into the neckline, turn under the open edge of the upper collar and topstitch it into the under collar attachment seam.
  8. Stitch the Sleeve seams.
  9. Set in the Sleeves, easing the cap.
  10. Overlock the hem allowances of the blouse and sleeves, turn them to the wrong side and topstitch close to the edge.
  11. Make buttonholes on the right front and sew the buttons on the left front.
  12. Tip: If you want a scalloped hem on the sleeves and blouse, cut the front, back and sleeve pieces without hem allowance and place their lower edges along the scalloped border of the lace.
