Sewing Instructions
- EMBROIDERY: Cut the right FRONT SKIRT HALF with slightly larger SEAM ALLOWANCES. Using transfer paper, transfer the embroidery design onto the fabric and complete it. Place the pattern piece on the already embroidered piece and refine the cut.
- Reinforce the lower yoke pieces with FUSIBLE INTERFACING.
- Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES of the center edges of the front skirt halves to the wrong side and topstitch. Overlap the right skirt half onto the left, aligning the center lines, and baste the upper edges.
- Stitch the lower edges of the yokes to the upper edges of the skirt halves, press the SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the yokes.
- Stitch the right side seam of the skirt up to the slit NOTCH. Stitch the left side seam of the skirt below the ZIPPER NOTCH, press the SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Baste the ZIPPER under the edges of the slit, then stitch from the right side.
- Stitch the side seams on the lower yokes.
- FACE the top of the skirt with the lower yokes, turn them to the wrong side and press. Topstitch the open edges of the lower yokes into the seam attaching the upper yokes. Turn under the side edges of the lower yokes and sew them to the ZIPPER tape.
- Turn under the hem allowance of the skirt bottom, topstitch.
