Sewing Instructions
- Turn the cut-on FACING of the top of each pocket to the right side and stitch to the side edges. Turn the FACING to the wrong side, also turn the SEAM ALLOWANCES along the remaining pocket edges to the wrong side. Topstitch the pocket along the FACING. Pin the pocket to the FRONT PANEL and topstitch at foot width.
- Fold the hood pieces right sides together and stitch the center and upper seams. Press the seams open and topstitch at foot width. Turn the hood inside out, align the center and upper seams, and stitch the upper cross seam.
- On the FRONT PANELS, clip the SEAM ALLOWANCES between the shoulder seams and the hood, stopping 1 cm before the far ends of the darts. Clip the dart depths in the middle for about 3 cm. Stitch the shoulder seams, starting or ending the stitch exactly at the dart. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES open.
- Set the hood into the BACK PANEL neckline, starting and ending the stitch exactly at the dart. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES downwards. Stitch the darts on the FRONT PANELS and hood. Trim the wide dart depths to 1 cm and serge. Topstitch the BACK PANEL along the hood attachment seam.
- Stitch the side seams.
- Press the hem allowance to the wrong side and topstitch. Fold the silk ribbon with the robe right sides together and stitch along the edges of the fronts and hood at 1 cm. Fold the ribbon to the wrong side, enclosing the edge, and topstitch from the right side into the attachment seam, catching the inner part of the ribbon.
- Stitch the SLEEVE seams. Bind the bottom of the SLEEVE with silk ribbon in the same way as the front edge. Set the SLEEVES into the armholes.
- Stitch the belt along the long and one short sides, turn out and press the folds. Turning under the open edge, stitch along the edges of the belt at foot width.
