Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the darts on the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL.
- Pin the LACE TRIM to the cups, right sides together, aligning the scalloped edge with the upper edge of the cups. Shape the lace as desired with an iron. On the LACE TRIM, at the corners on the wrong side, create pleats and stitch them like seams. Trim and overcast the SEAM ALLOWANCES. Topstitch the lower edge of the lace to the cups along the edge. Trim the cup fabric under the lace, leaving a 1 cm SEAM ALLOWANCE. Press these SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the cups. Along the lower edge of the LACE TRIM, sew a dense, narrow zigzag stitch, and trim the excess fabric close to the stitching.
- Stitch the darts on the cups and attach them to the FRONT PANEL.
- Fold the FACING with the BACK PANEL, right sides together, and stitch the upper edges, inserting the straps between them. Trim the SEAM ALLOWANCES to 2-3 mm from the stitching. Fold the FACING to the wrong side, baste, and press.
- Stitch the side seams, folding back the BACK PANEL FACING. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL. Fold under the short sides of the FACINGS and sew them to the seam. Topstitch the lower edge of the FACING to the BACK PANEL.
- Fold the straps in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch along the long side. Turn right side out, baste, and press. Sew the front ends under the corners of the cups. Try on the dress, adjust the length of the straps, and sew their back ends under the upper edge of the BACK PANEL.
- Measure the length of the lower edge of the slip. Cut the required length from the LACE TRIM and stitch it into a loop. Attach the lace to the bottom of the garment, right sides together, so that the scalloped edge faces upwards. Fold the lace downwards, and the SEAM ALLOWANCE upwards. Topstitch the SEAM ALLOWANCE to the slip close to the lace.
