Cutter's Must

  • From main fabric:

    2. Back – 1 piece on the fold
    3. Sleeve – 2 pieces
    4. Collar – 2 pieces on the fold
    5. Cuff – 2 pieces on the fold
  • From fusible interfacing: Center Front Facing – 2 pieces, upper Collar – 1 piece, Cuff – 2 pieces.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse fusible interfacing to the cut-on front facings, the upper collar and the cuffs.
  2. Stitch the shoulder seams, and the side seams down to the split mark; serge and press open.
  3. Place the Collar pieces right sides together and stitch along the outer edge. Turn the collar right side out, baste the edge, and press.
  4. Serge the outer edge of the facing, fold the facing to the right side, and stitch along the neckline from the front edge to the collar mark. Clip the neckline and facing seam allowances at the mark, stopping 1 mm short of the stitching. Turn the facing to the wrong side and press.
  5. Place the under collar on the blouse, right sides together, and stitch the collar on with a 1 cm seam. Turn under the lower edge of the upper collar and topstitch it over the seam.
  6. Stitch the sleeve seams and serge. Set the sleeves into the armholes.
  7. Fold the cuffs in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch along the ends. Turn the cuffs right side out and press.
  8. Turn the open edges of the cuffs under by 1 cm, insert the lower edge of the sleeve between the cuff layers and topstitch.
  9. Serge the hem allowance, turn it to the wrong side, and topstitch. Topstitch the side splits as well.
  10. Make buttonholes on the right front and sew the buttons on the left front.
