Sewing Instructions

  1. Reinforce half the width of the waistband with fusible interfacing (Heat-activated interfacings are ironed onto the wrong side of the piece with a hot iron).
  2. Stitch darts on the back panels.
  3. Sew the front center seam below the slit mark, and also the back center seam.
  4. Create the "Zipper with attached fly shield" - Press the one-piece zipper facing to the wrong side: on the right - along the center front line, on the left - stopping 1 cm before the center front line (= zipper allowance).
  5. Pin the zipper, turned sideways, to the left edge of the opening, place the fly shield, folded in half wrong sides together, on top, aligning the edges, and stitch all layers; straighten the underlap and stitch a securing line along the edge of the zipper.
  6. Pin the slit, aligning the center front lines.
  7. Stitch the free zipper tape to the facing of the right side of the opening, without catching the fabric of the front pant leg.
  8. Overlock the seam allowances and from the wrong side, stitch a securing zigzag stitch along the bottom edges of the underlaps.
  9. Topstitch the right front pant leg along the zipper, catching the facing.
  10. Stitch the inseams and side seams.
  11. Create the "Waistband" - Fold the waistband in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the ends; turn out and press.
  12. Place the waistband, turned down, reinforced on the waist edge of the garment from the right side and stitch.
  13. Straighten the waistband, press the open edge inwards and stitch to the main garment, continuing the decorative stitch around the entire perimeter of the waistband.
  14. Press the pant hem allowance inwards, turn under the edges and stitch along the edge.
  15. Fold the cuff along the markings and attach to the side and inseams.
  16. Work a buttonhole on the right end of the waistband; sew on a button.
