Sewing Instructions
- Front princess seams and pockets: Stitch the pocket bag to the center front between the pocket opening notches, right sides together.
- Clip the seam allowances on the center front to the ends of the stitching. Turn the pocket bag to the wrong side, press the pocket opening.
- On the front pieces, make the transverse seam, for which clip the dart allowance.
- From the wrong side, stitch the pocket bags.
- Make the front princess seam and, without breaking the stitching, stitch the small dart.
- Make the back center seam, stitch the darts, make the side and shoulder seams.
- Lining: Stitch the darts, make the back center seam and side seams.
- Attach the facings to the front panels made of lining fabric. Make the shoulder seams.
- Insert the lower collar into the neckline up to the notch, attach the upper collar to the facings and lining, for which clip the seam allowances to the corner of the cutout. Press the seam allowances open.
- Fold the upper collar and facing with the dress, right sides together. Stitch the edges, lapels, and outer sides of the collar up to the notch.
- Turn the collar right side out, turn the facings to the wrong side.
- From the wrong side, stitch the seam allowances of the collar insertion seam between the shoulder seams. Baste the lining to the armholes.
- Hem the dress and lining. Sew the facings to the hem.
- Sleeves: Stitch the dart, make the seam, hem and insert the sleeves. When inserting the sleeves, catch the lining.
- On the right front, make 4 buttonholes. On the left front, make the top buttonhole for the flat button of the inner fastening.
- Sew buttons to both front panels and sleeves according to the markings. When sewing the top button on the right front, catch the flat button from the wrong side; on the sleeves, catch the dart.
- Turn the lapels along the fold line to the right side, lightly press the fold line.
