Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch bust darts, sew shoulder seams.
  2. Set in sleeves into armholes.
  3. Sew sleeve seams and side seams in one continuous stitch.
  4. Front plackets and collar: reinforce the corner of the front neckline opening from the wrong side with a strip of interfacing.
  5. Attach plackets to the front along the longitudinal side. Slash the front seam allowance diagonally towards the end of the stitching. Press seam allowances open.
  6. Fold the collar along the fold line and neatly stitch along the short sides.
  7. Stitch the inner edges of the collar, taken together, into the neckline so that the collar edges align precisely with the placket attachment seams.
  8. Fold the placket along the fold line with right sides together, with the underplackets lying over the collar.
  9. Attach the underplackets to the neckline, stitch the upper short sides of the plackets.
  10. Turn the underplackets to the wrong side and topstitch onto the front along the placket attachment seam.
  11. Sew the upper sides of the underplackets to the shoulder seam allowances.
  12. Overlap the right placket onto the left, aligning the center lines.
  13. From the wrong side, stitch the front and the lower sides of the plackets.
  14. Press the hem allowance of the dress and sleeve hems to the wrong side and topstitch with a twin needle.
