FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: a concealed zipper; fusible interlining; 4 buttons.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom edges of the garment and the bottom edge of the sleeve – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical details). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Central upper back part – 2 pieces
    • Side upper back part – 2 pieces
    • Side upper front part – 2 pieces
    • Central upper front part – 1 piece on fold
    • Lower back part - 2 pieces
    • Lower front part - 1 piece on fold
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing - 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing - 1 piece
    • Strap – 4 pieces
  • From fusible interlining:
    • Back neckline facing - 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing - 1 piece
    • Strap – 4 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interlining to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch the princess seams of the upper back parts, press allowances towards the center and overcast. Stitch the princess seams of the upper front parts, clipping the central part at the corner, press allowances towards the center and overcast.
  3. On the lower back and front parts, create and secure inverted pleats. Stitch the upper and lower back and front parts together, press allowances upwards and overcast.
  4. Overcast the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the bottom, press allowances open. Insert the concealed zipper.
  5. Fold the strap piece in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the long side and the corner. Trim allowances at the corner, turn the strap right side out, shape, and press. Overcast buttonholes.
  6. Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overcast. Stitch side seams, inserting the straps, press allowances towards the back and overcast.
  7. Stitch shoulder seams of neckline facings, press allowances open. Overcast the outer edge. Place the facing on the garment, right sides together, and stitch the neckline edge. Turn the facing to the wrong side, shape, and press. Secure the facing to the main garment at the shoulder seams and the center back seam.
  8. Stitch the sleeve seam, inserting the straps, press allowances and overcast. Set sleeves into armholes, matching notches, press allowances and overcast.
  9. Overcast the bottom edge of the dress and the sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  10. Sew on buttons corresponding to the buttonholes.
