Fabric Recommendations

Choose lightweight fabrics with good drape for the best results:

  • Blouse fabrics made from natural or blended fibers
  • Shirting fabrics

Additional Supplies

  • Fusible interfacing

Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1cm. Hem allowance – 1.2 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 1 piece on fold
    • Front – 1 piece
    • Placket – 2 pieces
    • Neckline Facing (stand) – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Placket – 2 pieces
    • Neckline Facing (stand) – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the Plackets and the outer Neckline Facing (stand).
  2. Press the Plackets in half lengthwise, right side out. Stitch the plackets to the front along the long edge, stopping 1 cm from the bottom. Clip the front allowance at the corners, stopping 1 mm from the stitching line. Form a pleat on the front, overlapping the right placket over the left. Stitch the ends of the plackets, folding back the front and securing the bottom edge. Overlock the allowances.
  3. Stitch the shoulder and side seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
  4. Place the Neckline Facing (stand) pieces right sides together and stitch along the outer edge, starting and ending the stitching exactly at the attachment line. Turn the stand right side out and press.
  5. Stitch the outer stand to the neckline, turn under the raw edge of the inner stand and topstitch it into the attachment seam.
  6. Cut a bias strip 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 4 cm. Fold the bias strip lengthwise in the middle, right side out, and press. Place the bias strip on the armhole edge on the right side, letting the ends extend, and stitch. Fold the bias strip to the wrong side, clip the allowances and topstitch along the fold to the garment, press.
  7. Overlock the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
