Presenting a cozy knit hooded dress pattern featuring clever side panel construction that seamlessly integrates practical pockets.
This hooded dress is a versatile piece, perfect for:
Silhouette: a relaxed, straight-cut silhouette that falls comfortably from the shoulders.
Neckline: a functional hood with a drawstring, offering adjustable coverage and a sporty touch.
Sleeves: Full-length set-in sleeves, providing warmth and a classic fit.
Pockets: Cleverly integrated side-seam pockets within the front side panel seams.
Back: a clean, unadorned back panel maintaining the straight, relaxed line.
Waist: Unfitted, maintaining the relaxed, comfortable drape of the dress.
Length: Falls above the knee, offering a modern and versatile hemline.
Intermediate. Requires familiarity with sewing knit fabrics, accurate seam matching for side panels and pockets, and constructing a drawstring hood.
Select knit fabrics with moderate drape and stretch for optimal comfort and fit:
If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, seam allowances are not included. Seam allowances: all seam allowances – 1.0 cm, hem allowance – 1.5 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need. When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.
