Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, seam allowances are not included. Seam allowances: bottom edge of the garment and sleeve hem – 2 cm, center back seam and lower front - 0 cm, other seams 1 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need. When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 1 piece on fold
    • Upper front – 2 pieces
    • Lower front – 1 piece on fold
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.

  1. Fuse interfacing to the facings.
  2. Stitch darts on the front. Trim dart excess with an overlock and press downwards.
  3. Stitch the center seam of the upper front, press seam allowances open, and serge. Topstitch seam allowances onto the front 0.7 cm from the seam.
  4. Stitch the upper and lower front parts, serge seam allowances. Form and stitch the pleat according to markings, press.
  5. Stitch shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  6. Stitch shoulder seams of neckline facings, press seam allowances open. Serge the lower edge. Place facing and garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip curves, turn pieces right side out and press. Topstitch the facing to the blouse along the inner edge.
  7. Set sleeves into open armholes, press seam allowances towards the sleeve and serge.
  8. Stitch the side seam simultaneously with the sleeve seam, serge seam allowances and press towards the back.
  9. Serge the hem allowance of the garment and sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
