Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance for side edges of pocket – 2 cm, allowance along the outer edge of the hood – 2 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical details).

  • From main fabric:
    • Back - 2 pieces
    • Front - 1 piece on fold
    • Hood – 2 pieces
    • Pocket - 1 piece
    • Bottom band – 1 piece on fold
    • Cuff – 2 pieces
    • Front facing – 1 piece
    • Back facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match! Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.

  1. Overlock the pocket along the contour. Fold the allowances of the side edges inwards and topstitch. Place the pocket right side up on the front, aligning the lower attachment line. Topstitch the pocket. Turn the pocket upwards, fold the upper allowance and topstitch according to the upper attachment line.
  2. Stitch the side and shoulder seams, simultaneously with the sleeve seams. Press allowances towards the back and overlock.
  3. Stitch the shoulder seams of the facings. Overlock allowances. Stitch the center seam of the hood. Overlock allowance. Overlock the outer edge of the hood. Fold the allowance inwards and topstitch. Align and secure the lower edges of the hood and attached facings. Place the right of the hood over the left, aligning the marks. Stitch the hood and facings in one seam. Overlock allowances. Overlock the neckline allowances. Fold allowances inwards and topstitch.
  4. Stitch the cuff into a loop. Fold the cuff in half lengthwise and press. Attach the cuff to the sleeve, overlock the allowance.
  5. Stitch the bottom band into a loop. Fold the band in half lengthwise and press. Attach the band to the bottom of the tunic, overlock the allowance.
