If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: hem allowance for the garment bottom and sleeve hem - 2.0 cm; other seams 1 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need. When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
- From main fabric:
- Back placket – 1 piece on fold
- Back — 1 piece on fold
- Front placket – 2 pieces
- Front — 1 piece on fold
- Side front piece – 2 pieces
- Sleeve — 2 pieces
- Welt pocket flap — 2 pieces
- Front facing — 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- Welt pocket flap - 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the welt pocket flap pieces.
- Stitch the back placket to the back, press seam allowances upwards, serge. Topstitch 0.7 cm from the seam.
- Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and equal to the neckline length + 5 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the neckline edge right side out and stitch. Clip seam allowances. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
- Stitch the front princess seams, press seam allowances towards the center and serge. Topstitch 0.7 cm from the seam.
- Press the welt pocket flap in half lengthwise, right side out. Place the welt pocket flap on the right side of the front placket and stitch the bottom side. Clip the placket allowances at the corners, turn the welt pocket flap to the wrong side, straighten, and stitch the short sides.
- Serge the center edges of the front placket, press to the wrong side and topstitch. Overlap the right placket over the left and secure at the top edge. Stitch the front placket to the front, press seam allowances upwards.
- From the wrong side, place the front facing on the welt pocket flap and topstitch into the seam attaching the placket and welt pocket flap. Serge seam allowances. Topstitch 0.7 cm from the placket attachment seam.
- Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and equal to the top edge of the front + 5 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the top edge of the front right side out, insert the back between them, and stitch. Fold the binding to the wrong side, press, and topstitch along the fold to the front.
- Set the sleeve into the open armhole. Press seam allowances towards the sleeve and serge.
- Stitch the side seam simultaneously with the sleeve seam. Press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
- Press the bottom edge of the garment and sleeve twice by 1 cm to the wrong side and topstitch.
