Key Design Features

Silhouette: Straight tunic silhouette with bust darts and moderate ease for comfort and structure.

Neckline: a straight vertical slit at the center front, finished with a facing, and a stand collar.

Sleeves: Long, straight set-in sleeves with decorative trim above the hem.

Hemline: Hip-length with side slits, edged with decorative trim along the hem and slits.

Details: 4 cm wide decorative trim applied along the front slit, sleeve hems, hem and side slits for an elevated finish.

Intermediate. Requires precision in facing the front slit, applying trim, and constructing the stand collar.

Cutter’s Must

From Main Fabric:

1. Back – 1 piece (cut on fold)
2. Front – 1 piece
3. Sleeve – 2 pieces
4. Stand Collar – 2 pieces
5. Front Neckline Facing – 1 piece

From Fusible Interfacing:

1. Front Neckline Facing – 1 piece
2. Stand Collar – 1 piece

Important Information

Before cutting your fabric:

• Print and lay out pattern pieces to determine yardage.
• Check mirrored pieces, notches, and grainlines.
• For patterned fabrics, align carefully for symmetry.

Assembly Instructions

1. Interfacing

Apply fusible interfacing to the Front Neckline Facing and the outer Stand Collar.

2. Front Darts

Stitch the darts on the Front.
Press the dart allowances upward.

3. Shoulder and Side Seams

Stitch the shoulder seams of the tunic, press the seam allowances toward the Back, and overlock.

Stitch the side seams from the armhole to the start of the slit (beginning of the trim line), press the seam allowances open, and overlock.

Topstitch the seam allowances along the slit 0.5 cm from the edge.

4. Front Neckline Facing

Overlock the outer edges of the Front Neckline Facing.

Place the Front Neckline Facing onto the Front, right sides together, and stitch around the straight neckline slit.

Begin and end stitching exactly at the marked attachment line.

Trim the seam allowances at the corner, turn the facing to the wrong side, and press.

5. Stand Collar

Place the Stand Collar pieces right sides together and stitch along the outer edge.

Notch the seam allowances at the corners.

Turn the Stand Collar right side out and press.

6. Collar Attachment

Attach the Stand Collar to the front neckline, placing it between the Front and the Front Neckline Facing, stitching the outer stand to the front neckline.

Clip the seam allowance of the stand at the shoulder seam, then stitch the outer stand to the neckline of the Back.

Turn under the seam allowance of the inner stand and topstitch it into the attachment seam.

7. Sleeves

Stitch the Sleeve seam.
Overlock the seam allowance and press toward the back.

Overlock the sleeve hem allowance, turn to the wrong side, and topstitch.

Set the sleeves into the armholes.
Overlock the seam allowance.

8. Hem and Decorative Trim

Overlock the hem, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.

Sew on the decorative trim as shown in the technical drawing, positioning it 1 cm from the edges.

On the Front, stitch the trim through all layers, catching the Front Neckline Facing.
