Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to the respective pieces.

  3. On the left BACK PANEL, along the vertical slit edge, trim 5 cm. On both BACK PANEL pieces, fuse the slit from the wrong side. On the right side, mark the center seam line (slit fold line). Press the left piece along the slit fold line; on the right piece, press only the SEAM ALLOWANCE of the right side of the slit (6 cm) to the wrong side. Align the pieces along the center seam and secure at the upper edge of the slit. Serge the center edge of the BACK PANEL separately on each piece. Serge the slit SEAM ALLOWANCES. Stitch the center edge of the BACK PANEL from the mark to the slit corner. Clip the slit seam SEAM ALLOWANCE corner on the right piece. Press the center seam SEAM ALLOWANCES open, press the slit SEAM ALLOWANCES and secure them on the right side with machine stitching. Insert the ZIPPER.
  4. Stitch the FRONT PANEL princess seams, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the center, and serge.
  5. Stitch FRONT YOKE_1 to FRONT YOKE_2, press SEAM ALLOWANCES upwards and serge. Stitch FRONT YOKE_2 to the FRONT PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES downwards and serge.
  6. Stitch the side and shoulder edges, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and serge.
  7. Stitch the shoulder seams of the FACINGS, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Serge the outer edge. Place the dress with the FACING right sides together, aligning the neckline edges. Before reaching 5 mm from the edges of the concealed fastener, fold back the FACING and pin it to the upper edge of the dress. On the right side of the dress, fold back the SEAM ALLOWANCES along the ZIPPER and pin them to the neckline edge over the FACING. Stitch the neckline edge, clip the SEAM ALLOWANCES at curves, turn the pieces right side out and press. Secure the FACING to the ZIPPER tape.
  8. Serge the SLEEVE edges separately. Stitch the SLEEVE seam from the slit mark upwards, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open, pressing the slit. Stitch a securing line along the slit 0.2 cm from the edge. Set the SLEEVES into the armholes, matching the NOTCHES. Press and serge the SEAM ALLOWANCES. Along the lower edge of the SLEEVE, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather.
  9. Fold the CUFF in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the CUFF edges and the step. Clip the SEAM ALLOWANCE at the mark. Turn right side out and press. Attach the outer side of the CUFF to the SLEEVE. Fold the inner side's SEAM ALLOWANCE inwards and topstitch into the seam of the outer side's attachment. Make buttonholes and sew on buttons.
  10. Serge the hem SEAM ALLOWANCE of the dress, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
