Cutter's Must

- Lower Back – 2 pieces
- Front – 1 piece
- From second main fabric (contrast color):
- Upper Back – 2 pieces
- Right Bolero – 1 piece
- Left Bolero – 1 piece
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics are sewn with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity. You can also sew pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the darts on the back pieces. Press the darts towards the center back seam. Stitch the Upper Back to the Lower Back pieces. Finish the seam allowances and press them upwards. Finish the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the hem. Insert the zipper.
- Stitch the darts on the Front and Bolero pieces. Trim the dart allowances with an overlock machine.
- Clip the Bolero seam allowances at the vertical notches at the neckline. Bind the lower edges of the Right Bolero and Left Bolero with knit bias tape. Place the boleros right side up on the Front, aligning the neckline edges. Baste the pieces together along the side, armhole and neckline edges. Stitch the shoulder seams. Press the seam allowances towards the back and finish. Bind the neckline edge, starting and ending in the section between the boleros. Bind the upper edges of the bows.
- Attach the boleros to the Front along the vertical lines with machine stitching. Stitch the center edges of the bows. Spread the bow flat and attach it to the Front with blind stitches.
- Cut a loop strip 6 cm long and 3 cm wide. Bind its long edges with knit bias tape. Wrap the loop around the bow, covering the joint of the neckline binding.
- Set the Sleeves into the open armholes, matching the notches. Press and finish the seam allowances. Bind the lower edge of each sleeve with knit bias tape. Stitch the side seams and sleeve seams in one pass. Press and finish the seam allowances.
- Finish the hem allowance of the dress, press it to the wrong side and topstitch.
